Professor Nolan Zane was selected by the UC Davis Academic Senate Committee on Public Service to receive the 2017 Distinguished Scholarly Public Service Award for his “great outreach to the UC Davis community and beyond“. The Award, which includes an honorarium, is presented by the Davis Division of the Academic Senate in recognition of significant contributions to the world, nation, state and/or local community through distinguished public service. The Distinguished Scholarly Public Service Award is based on our recognition of the University’s tradition of excellence in public service and demonstrates the commitment of the Davis campus to continuing this tradition.
The recipient(s) of the 2017 Distinguished Scholarly Public Service Award will be honored at a combined Academic Senate and Academic Federation awards reception during the Spring Quarter, 2017. In addition, the recipients and their service may be highlighted in UC Davis promotional articles or videos that discuss their service, and the importance of scholarly public service.
