Nolan Zane Receives AAPA Lifetime Achievement Award (6/8/15)

Professor Nolan Zane received the 2015 Asian American Psychological Association Lifetime Achievement Award. The AAPA Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes distinguished and exemplary long-term (a career spanning no less than 25 years) contributions to the field of Asian American Psychology from a senior level psychologist. Dr. Zane will receive his award at the 2015 AAPA Convention on August 5, 2015 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Gloria Wong-Padoongpatt Receives AAPA Dissertation Research Grant – Honorable Mention (5/29/15)

Gloria Wong-Padoongpatt received a 2015 Asian American Psychological Association Dissertation Research Grant – Honorable Mention for her dissertation titled: Impact, Mechanisms, and Individual Variations in the Stress Response to Racial Microaggressions among Asian Americans. Gloria will present her dissertation research at the 2016 AAPA Convention in Denver, Colorado. AAPA Dissertation Research Grant Proposals are for the initiation or completion of a dissertation, which has implications for the field of Asian American Psychology. A grant is awarded to the student with the most outstanding research proposal. Each year, there are also two honorable mentions; all three students present their research in a symposium at the next AAPA convention.

Gloria Wong-Padoongpatt Receives UC Davis Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Mentoring Undergraduate Research by a Graduate Student/Postdoc (5/22/15)

Graduate student Gloria Wong-Padoongpatt (Psychology) received the 2015 UC Davis Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Mentoring Undergraduate Research: Postdoc and Graduate Student Award. This annual award was instituted in 2015 as a way to recognize the critical contributions of individuals at the trainee level to the excellent mentoring of, and advocacy for, undergraduate research. Professor Nolan Zane (Psychology and Asian American Studies) received the 2015 UC Davis Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Mentoring Undergraduate Research: Faculty Award. This annual award was instituted in 1994 as a way to emphasize the importance and visibility of the faculty’s contribution to the excellent mentoring of, and advocacy for, undergraduate research.
