AACDR Receives 2015 Richard M. Suinn Minority Achievement Award from the American Psychological Association (7/9/15)

The Asian American Center on Disparities Research (AACDR) at the University of California, Davis was selected as the winner of the 2015 Richard M. Suinn Minority Achievement Award. The Suinn Award is presented each year to a program that has demonstrated excellence in the recruitment, retention and graduation of ethnic minority students. Programs are rewarded as a measure of their overall commitment to cultural diversity in all phases of departmental activity; the number and percentage of ethnic minority students enrolled; and the percentage of ethnic minority students who earned doctorates in the past five years. The Office of Ethnic Minority Affairs established the Suinn Minority Achievement Program Award in 1999. This annual award honors Richard M. Suinn, PhD, a past president of APA, for his outstanding leadership in the field of psychology and commitment to ethnic minority issues. The 2015 Suinn Award will be presented to AACDR during the 123rd APA Annual Convention in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
